1. What is the date, time, and place of the ordination?
2. What time should I arrive at Clowes Hall on the day of the ordination?
- Bishops should arrive by 8:00 a.m. for the Bishops' Breakfast and Meeting.
- Banners and stands should be set up in the lobby by 8:45 a.m.
- Clergy and laity who will be processing should arrive by 9:00 a.m.
- All others should be seated by 10:15a.m. The prelude begins at 10:35.
3. Is parking available nearby?
Parking is available in the garage adjacent to Clowes Hall, and on the street. Entrance to the garage can be slow for big events, so please allow extra time. Carpooling is encouraged. This link will give you more details about parking plus handicapped information.
Buses may drop off passengers at the main door, but must park at Hinkle Field House.

The first procession begins at 10:45.
Civic Leaders, Members of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church, Provincial Officers, Members of the Diocesan Executive Council, Diocesan Staff, Diocesan Youth Leaders, Representatives of the Standing, Search, and Transition Committees.
Presenters of Bishop Elect, Readers of Testimonials, Presenters of the signs of Office, Litanist, Lectors, and Ministers of Communion.
Deacon Formation Candidates, Seminarians, Seminary Deans, Ecumenical and Interfaith Representatives, and Episcopal (and Anglican Communion and full communion partner) Clergy.
The Bishop-elect, Supernumerary Bishops, Deacons of the Gospel and Table, Preacher, Co-consecrating Bishops and Presiding Bishop.
7. I'm processing. What do I wear?
Vergers, banner-bearers, thurifers, crucifers, torch-bearers, and eucharistic ministers: bring the vestments you would wear on a normal Sunday.
Supernumerary Episcopal bishops should wear rochet, chimere, and tippet.
Episcopal priests and deacons should wear either cassock and surplice or an alb, along with a white stole.
Ecumenical and interfaith representatives should vest according to your own tradition.
Civil dignitaries, members of diocesan committees, and lectors in procession will not need to vest.
8. I'm processing. Where do I go?
Processions will assemble in the lower level/undercroft of Clowes Hall. There will be four or five gathering areas depending on where in the procession you will be. Greeters in the lobby and in the undercroft will direct you where you need to go.
9. I'm processing but have dual or triple roles (e.g., member of the Search Committee and reader of a testimonial). I could be in multiple parts of the procession. How do I determine where I should be?
Greeters in the lobby or lower level/undercroft will help you with this. Generally, functions in the service will be the more important consideration for the procession. In the above example, we would want you to process with the other readers of testimonials rather than with the Search Committee.
10. I'm processing. What, besides vestments, should I bring?
Banner bearers should bring banners and stands. Be sure to mark the name of your congregation on your stand. Stands will be set up inside the lobby of the theatre where the banners will be placed after the processions.
You may wish to bring a snack to enjoy while you wait. (There are also vending machines in the lower level/undercroft). Otherwise, bring as little as possible, as space is at a premium. There are no secure lockers, so it is best not to bring valuable items.
The entire service is printed in the leaflet, so there is no need to bring prayer books or hymnals.
11. Will gluten free communion bread be available?
All communion bread at this event will be gluten free.

13. Are there rehearsals?
The main rehearsal, conducted by the Canon to the Presiding Bishop, will be in Clowes Hall on Friday 4/28, at 4:00 PM. Co-consecrating bishops, bishops chaplains, deacons of the gospel and table, lectors, presenters, readers of testimonials, and presenters of gifts should be there. NO ONE ELSE PLEASE, unless directly invited.
The choir will rehearse in Clowes Hall on Friday 4/28, at 7:00 p.m.
Rehearsals for vergers, marshals, ushers, and acolytes will be conducted separately (time TBD, please stay tuned and be sure to check your email for more information).
14. What other events are scheduled for the weekend?
Friday, April 28:
10:00 a.m.: Presiding Bishop meets with clergy of diocese at St. Richard's School, and the Presiding Bishop's spouse meets with clergy spouses at Trinity, Indianapolis.
11:30 a.m.: Clergy and spouses will share lunch together.
1:00 p.m.: Presiding Bishop and Bishop-Elect will take questions from the media at Trinity.
5:00 p.m.: Women of Color Clergy Reception at Christ Church Cathedral.
30 p.m.: Reception hosted by Union of Black Episcopalians at Christ Church Cathedral
Sunday, April 30:
10:30 a.m.: Presiding Bishop will visit St. David's, Bean Blossom
11:00 a.m.: Seating of the New Bishop at Christ Church Cathedral followed by a block party
